The 2024 Audi A4 Is The Best Of Both Worlds!

Today, we will talk about the 2024 Audi A4, and under the hood, we have a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that goes through a 7-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy stands at 24 mpg around town and then 32 on the highway, while power outputs are 261 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque.

Simple Yet Thoughtful Design

Starting with the hood, it has got the distinctive Audi lines that go toward the center, accompanied by a really cool headlight design. There are the trims that are blacked out, and the same thing with the grill as well as the Audi badge, all blacked out. So, when you put it all together, it has this really cool contrast between the black and the white with this particular car that we have for review. 

On the side, our tire-wheel setup is 245-35 R19 in the front and over in the rear, and the wheels on this have silver with the metallic gray mix. We love this larger spoke design; we think it looks really good! Plus, you have the red brake calipers as well. And on the fender, it’s got an S-line badge as well. Alongside that, it has blacked-out side cladding and the same thing with the mirror caps. 

Taking a look at the keyfob, we have our lock and unlock function, and then it has the opening function for the trunk and the Audi logo at the bottom. Inside the trunk, it has quite a bit of storage space, and this is one of the things that's great about the A4 over the A3, which is a little bit more practical. 

On the trunk, you’ve got this cool blacked-out spoiler, along with the really cool tail light design and the cool sequential thing as well with the LED lights as well. 

Quality Sparks Inside The Cabin Of The Audi A4

Coming inside the cabin, you have the door panel covered in soft touch from the top, continuing all the way down to the bottom. The legroom at the back is not massive, but it works; it has a little cargo net there, some vents, a climate zone, USBs, all of that! And then, of course, you have a cup holder armrest with slightly over-engineered cup holders, which is interesting, and then again, the headroom back here is pretty good. 

Coming to the front door panel, you have similar soft touch-covered trim from the top continuing down below, and it has all our window controls with our mirror adjustments as well as memory seat functions. The mirrors also have blind spot monitoring. 

Then the front seat has a similar stitching, and you have the power adjustment settings on the side. Coming from the left, you have the light controls, and above it has soft touch on the dash covering all the area. 

Now, taking a look at the steering wheel, as obvious, it has soft touch all around, and you got paddle shifters in the back for the seven-speed. On the steering, it has the practical controls like your volume controls, voice command controls, and heated steering button, and then we have got the three stocks in normal Audi fashion at the back of the steering. It has a fully digital gauge cluster, and it's called Audi's virtual cockpit, and it's really cool with the functionality on it! This is a great gauge cluster overall. 

Is It Low On Tech?

Now, in reverse, we do have a backup camera with trajectory lines that turn with the steering wheel. It’s got the bird's-eye view too, because it has a full 360-degree camera system, and we would say the A4 doesn't really need it, but it's a nice feature to have. As for the rest of the infotainment system, response time is great. It's quick with all the different functions. This screen is also where we can see the drive modes for the A4, and Audi kept things pretty simple. 

The dash is all soft touch with the trim and really tight fit and finish. It has got the Quattro logo on it, and then there’s a nice glove box. In the center, it has dual-zone climate controls, heated seats here for the front, drive mode selection down below, the auto-stop-start, stability control switch, and parking sensors. Then it has some USBs, cup holders, and a little storage area after that, followed by the shifter for the seven-speed, before the parking brake with the volume control. 

The center console has a wireless phone charging pad, a nice kind of armrest trim in the middle, and then we do have a sunroof.

The window sticker for this particular A4 shows all the standard equipment with its base MSRP; it’s got a few options, including the premium plus and then the Black Optics package, resulting in a total MSRP of $51,085.

Is The 2024 Audi A4 Fast Or Comfortable Or Both?

Now, without further ado, let's see how it drives. We were looking at cars that we’ve reviewed this year and realized that we reviewed an A4 Allroad, but we haven't reviewed the sedan. And don't get me wrong, the Allroad is really cool in our opinion, and we think if you can get one of those, those are worth getting. 

But the sedan is the one that most people go for; most people just want basically an Audi, and well, that's what this is. We think this is like the entry-level Audi. The A3 is technically the true entry-level, but the A4 is close there. 

The 2024 Audi A4 has got good torque, and it's nice to drive. We were in Comfort mode when we popped into Auto, and it's just smooth with the powertrain! It's not insanely quick, but it's got enough power that it moves! The suspension is comfortable too, and with the Quattro system, it's great in all four seasons. Talking about comfort, when you go over a little compression, it does a good job; it's just a comfortable car, and that's where we will say that the A4 is worth getting over the A3 when it comes to the comfort with it. 

The A3 is such a small car; it's not uncomfortable, but it's such a small car that you feel everything quite a bit more than you feel in the A4. 

In dynamic mode, the Audi A4 is really quick with the transmission. It's not insanely fast, like, you know, an S4 or like the RS3, but it's quick enough. It's more than quick enough, yet so comfortable—such a good car! 

Should You Get The A4 As Your Entry-Level Luxury Car?

Summing things up here with the Audi A4, we think this drives really well; it's got comfortable seats; it's got the features that it needs—you know, in terms of being a good daily driver—heated seats, tri-zone climate, and all of that. And you know how pretty economical it is when it comes to the fuel economy side of things.

But then again, it's not insanely sporty, but it's sporty enough that it's fun, like a car that you get in and you can be comfortable in. Then you can also have a little bit of fun with it. You can go around some corners a little bit at higher speeds and just enjoy the drive. So it's just a well-balanced car, and that's a good way to put it. It's a well-balanced car.
