The 2024 GMC Acadia Is A Game Changer With The New 2.5-Liter Engine!

In this article, I’ll be reviewing the all new 2024 GMC Acadia, and this particular one comes in the Denali trim level! For the powertrain, we get a 2.5 L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that's mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. 

I saw this a few months ago at the auto show and seeing it here in person looks even better! So without any further ado, let’s dive straight into the review!

2024 Acadia Gets A Cooler Exterior

A lot in the exterior has been updated and the most noticeable one is the front fascia. You have new LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, and LED fog lights. The design altogether just make a beautiful beautiful front end here! Plus, it’s got the signature Denali grille as well. 

At the side, it gets the premium 22 inch nickel-aluminum wheels. But the most noticeable part is the C Pillar. In the earlier 2023 models, Acadia had body painted C Pillar that kind of distinguished it from other mainstream SUVs. However, the 2024 model gets a blacked-out C Pillar making it look pretty usual like any other SUV of its class. 

The Interior In Denali Makes Every Dollar Count!

I love that we have the wood trim. and again the stitching really does make a big difference here. It makes the GMC Acadia look much more luxurious! Obviously, you have the Denali logo embossed on the front headrests. 

In terms of seating space, I’m a 6 ft 3-inch person, and after I adjust the front seat according to my comfortable position, there’s a decent amount of legroom and knee room in the rear seat space. The headroom is also great, even with the panoramic sunroof. 

Making the second row more practical, you have rear AC controls, two USB C charging ports and a very deep pocket for the storage. 

Coming to the third row, well, just like any other three-row SUV, it’s made for kids only. I, being a quite tall person, find it very uncomfortable here, but for a kid it’s quite suitable. However, it’s pretty easy to just fold the second row down, to get in and out of the third row. 

Oh, and you do have USB C charge ports on either side as well as bottle holders.

For better storage, GMC Acadia comes with power folding seats, and i have to say that’s a nice touch justifying it’s $63,000-ish price tag. Space with the seats down is enormous, but with all the seats up, it’s tiny just like any other SUV in it’s segment. 

Plus, You've Got Tons Of Tech Features

Alright, cars are nothing but a bag of tech these days, and the 2024 GMC Acadia is not an exception either. We have the Bose performance series sound system, memory seats, power door-lock controls, power windows and mirrors with blind-spot monitors in them, and whatnot! 

Making you feel more premium, it’s got the power liftgate control, the auto-sense liftgate, electronic parking brake, various Drive modes, Auto Stop-start, Power-Tilt and telescoping steering wheel, and the power driver and front passenger seats which come with four-way power adjustments and lumbar support.

Now, we're going to get to the elephant in the room, the touch-screen display. I’t’s huge and once you get used to it's pretty easy to use makes sense but this thing loves fingerprints. 

The dual-zone automatic climate controls can be used either from the screen or the buttons down below, and I will say you do still get buttons if you want to toggle that there which is pretty neat. 

Alongside that, you have other tech features that help better your ownership of the car, including Auto Park Assist, the lock-unlock feature of the AC, Lane Keep Assist and many more!

Thank God They Added The 2.5-Liter Engine!

Now, let’s hop onto the driver's seat of the 2024 GMC Acadia. But before that, the 2024 GMC Acadia gets a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine which is also offered in its sibling Chevrolet Traverse Z71. But the most important bit is that GMC has finally bid goodbye to the 2.0-liter turbocharged motor with the 2024 Acadia.

I mean it has been one of the key weak points of the Acadia to date that the 2.0-liter four-pot never felt adequate and the 2.5-liter turbo fills the gap quite happily!

Unfortunately, tho, the 3.6-liter V6 is gone with the 2024 model, so for those of you, who loved the naturally aspirated fun, it is a disappointment for sure.

The interesting part, however, is that the 2.5-liter turbocharged engine is quite brilliant for compensating such issues. I will say the fuel economy is pretty impressive even though the engine feels very powerful as opposed to the earlier 2.0-liter one. 

Talking about the ride quality, the interior is very quiet at regular speeds. I, for the most part, can't really hear anything else and even with this having the bigger 22-inch wheels! Yes, it’s that refined and comfortable. 

Coming back to driving, you get a few driving modes including Tow, Hul, Normal, Sport and Snow. In the sport mode, it behaves very sharp and responsive. Plus the gearbox feels a lot faster than before, and shifts effortlessly. 

Also I tried the handsfree adaptive cruise control and it works just fine, obviously stay focused on the road even if you’re using such features, but I have to acknowledge that the system is very well calibrated. 

You Won't Regret Putting Your Money On The GMC Acadia

With an almost $63,000 sticker price, the GMC Acadia feels sounds, quite an expensive vehicle but you get everything that you’d expect from such an investment. From the Super Cruise to the panoramic sunroof, the lovely new infotainment system, and the integrated AC controls alongside physical buttons all of these are present in the 2024 Acadia.

Plus, you’ve got heated steering wheel, heated & cooled seats, drive modes, and almost everything that you can expect in this price range. 

Then as an overall product, it also is something that rides very well, drives very well and it does feel like a Denali! Even in terms of the looks on the outside to the Quilted Stitch leather on the inside, the 2024 GMC Acadia stands out! 

In the end, I’m very impressed by most of all the exterior styling of this thing; it's beautiful to look at in person, plus it does everything like it's supposed to do.
