The 2025 INFINITI QX80 Is Undeniably Drool-worthy!

In a luxury SUV market where rivals are continuously upgrading their products, it's very hard to stay relevant for one particular car, throughout its production lifetime. And that's why INFINITI is bringing out their horse for 2025. Yes, today we have the all-new 2025 INFINITI QX80 with us, and let’s see how it has improved over its last generation.

Looks Like A Maybach From Outside, Really!

When it comes to a big luxury SUV, it needs to have a presence and I have to say after seeing this in person in the natural daylight, this new 2025 QX80 is full of presence.

The front with this huge grille is a modern interpretation of INFINITI’s signature design, and everything feels just kind of enlarged, and bolder than ever before. It gives me a bit of Maybach vibes if I’m being honest. It is finished in black, however, most other trim levels are going to come with more of a chrome or a shiny finish.

The emblem in the center is going to be illuminated at night as well.

Talking about the rest of the lighting, so the 2025 INFINITI QX80 also gets a brand-new design for the headlights. It has a daytime running light that also functions as a turn signal indicator. These do have entry and exit animations when you get in and out of the vehicle.

And down below is the actual headlight cluster with projector LED headlights as standard. Quirky this is that, just under the headlamp housing, you have a fully functional air vent that helps in being more efficient and aerodynamic.

In terms of our ground clearance, the 2025 QX80 can sit as low as 10 inches to 9.6 inches to the ground, thanks to the air suspension which adjusts the height.

Moving on to the wheels, you're going to have a wide variety of selections, but most of them are available in 22 inches and I absolutely love the designs, it looks like you’re driving a vehicle that costs around $100,000.

Now, here at the side of the all-new 2025 INFINITI QX80, you're going to once again see a large presence, and there are a lot of design elements going on.

But before we get into those, let me clear out what has changed in terms of the internal architecture. So, the 2025 QX80 is about 21 inches longer than before, which is about the same as something like a Cadillac Escalade. However, the really important for this all-new QX80 is that it is riding on an all-new platform that’s based on the Nissan Patrol, so it's going to be very different from the previous generation QX80.

Now in terms of design, the 2025 QX80 gets pop-out door handles, a nice gray finish for the window surrounds, and then we have the trim name spelled out in the rear third quarter panel. I really adore that overall design touch, it makes it seem very expensive and premium.

Additionally, we do have a full floating roof effect going on here! Speaking of the roof, you can actually get two different roof colors, either black or a gray finish.

At the back, we're going to have an all-new look back here as well, and one of the things that I really like about this is that it does have a lot of INFINITI signature elements but also kind of modernizes the overall look.

It also gets an integrated spoiler up top, quite a large spoiler to be honest; you have a hidden wiper underneath of the glass part, and then we have the black trim going through.

Probably the main element that you're going to notice though is the tail light design, this is going to be a full-length LED tail light and you have a lot of elements that kind of look like what you have in the front with the new headlight design.

I like the cohesiveness of that and like I mentioned this is a full LED tail light for both your brake reverse light as well as turn signal indicator. You have a big INFINITI spelled out across the back and as we drop down to this lower area we have a very beefy bumper. Sadly for sport-obsessed enthusiasts, there are no visible exhaust tips back here.

The Interior Is Rich With Luxury

The real news with any luxury SUV is what is on the inside, and getting inside the QX80 - wow! I have to say, it really makes a stunning first impression with the level of luxury that you have on board. We have a lot of luxury packed in here because we have beautiful semi-lanolin leather seats done in shades of red and gray. Tons of quilting and exclusive stitching details!

Now in terms of adjustments, you've got quite a few, it looks to be like 12 or 14 ways of adjustment you're going to have power adjusting bolsters and more importantly, power massage!

On the door trim is where you'll find your memory seats.

The overall cabin materials as a whole feels amazingly luxurious, and even on the door trim you have different types of leather and textures, and a similar type of leather covers the dashboard as well.  Then you have a piano black trim followed by the red leather treatment below.

It’s got some wooden trim in front of the large display setup, which makes it feel even more premium.

And when I say a large display setup, you have two large screens, one for the gauge cluster and the other is for the touchscreen infotainment and both of them share the same housing just like we’ve seen in BMWs these days.

On the steering wheel, you have kind-of touch capacitive controls, and there’s an option for you to choose to control either the gauge cluster or the touchscreen display on your right.

The steering wheel is a very new unit from INFINITI, and I love how the leather feels in my hand. It looks like a two-spoke design, and the I do get a bit of Hyundai vibe there! The airbag case is done in a two-tone finish, that feels more pleasing to the eye than a monotonous setup.

Talking about the screen in the center console, this is the only piece that feels a bit weird to me. So this one is basically your control for all the climate control-related stuff, and it has haptic feedback as well as sound, which feels really satisfying.

But the screen has huge bezels around it, which makes it look a bit out of place.

Then followed by that, you have your hazard button below, and after that you have your shifter- sorry, shift-buttons, which also feels a bit odd to me. I think the engineers at INFINITI neglected the center console pretty badly!

Now back to the feel of the cabin, you have a nice Alcantara roof-liner, and it feels great honestly! Also, you have a huge panoramic sunroof up above as standard, which is a significant improvement as there was no option of having it in the earlier generation.

The Important Bit: Rear Seat Space

Now to the more important bit and that’s the rear seats of the 2025 INFINITI QX80. I mean obviously, being chauffeured is something most of the buyers will get it for, won’t they?

So how’s it at the back? Well, you have tons of space at the back, with a lot of legroom, knee room as well as headroom. What’s even better is that in the higher trim levels, you get powered middle-row seats, and you can even adjust the lumbar support as well.

You also have some physical controls if you don’t want to use the screen, and they work perfectly fine. I won’t say they feel great in terms of design but overall, it does the job.

As I said earlier, the front center console feels kinda odd with the whole luxury vibe of the car.

2025 Silver INFINITI QX30 Interior Third Row Seats

Alright, let’s head to the third row, and to get in there, you have to just push a button that’ll relocate the second-row seat so allowing you to get back there easily.

In terms of space at the third row, I have to say it’s a huge improvement over the previous generation. You have plenty of space and thigh support even for tall people. You also have heated third-row seats which are standard on the top trim only!

So storage at the back feels decent for an SUV of such size and capacity. Improving the practicality, you have electronic power fold options for the third and second-row seats. Plus, like many other luxury SUV, you also have buttons to adjust the ride height for easier access to the boot.

INFINITI Reduced Two Cylinders!

Unfortunately, we can’t test it out on the roads as it’s just a first-look type session for us. But this 2025 INFINITI QX80 gets a new 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that eliminates the earlier 5.6-liter V8 motor that came with the reputation of being a gas guzzler.

Some of you might be upset about that but twin-turbo six-cylinder is the way to go as it seems for many full-size luxury SUVs like these. The 2025 QX80 with the new V6 engine produces 450 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque which is about 50 horses more than the earlier model and 100 lb-ft extra in contrast. And it is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission which sends the power to all four wheels or two wheels depending on your choice.

MPG figures are not out yet, but obviously, it’ll churn out better efficiency with two less cylinders.

The Pricing Seems Fine

We do have official pricing from INFINITI at least where the trim levels are going to start out at. Let’s have a quick look below-

Trim LevelMSRP
Pure$82,450
Luxe$89,550
Sensory$110,645
Autograph$110,595
2025 INFINITI QX30 MSRP Without Destination Fees

Overall, I think that's a pretty good value for what you're getting with this all-new QX80. There are a lot of luxury goodies you're getting with this model at such a price, which some of its competitors miss out!
