The 2024 Honda HR-V Is The Definition Of Affordable Luxury!

In this article, we will be reviewing a 2024 Honda HR-V and under the hood, we have a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that goes through a CVT automatic. This powertrain setup churns out a fuel economy of 25 MPG around town and 30 MPG on the highway with power outputs being 158 horsepower and then 138 lb-ft of torque. 

Why Does It Look So Much Like A Lamborghini Urus?

Starting with the hood of the 2024 Honda HR-V, it's raised there on either side, the white paint on this particular unit kind of hides it a little bit. Popping down below, the headlight does look really cool; it looks like the Lamborghini Urus, that's why I call this the Hondaghini! The grill has a darker coloration and the same thing at the bottom. Putting it all together, it looks like an Urus from the front end for real! 

On to the side, the tire-wheel setup is 235-55 R18 in the front and over in the rear, and the wheels completely blacked out with this package and that kind of matches with the fender flares and the rest of the body work. Same thing with the mirror caps, and the window trim. 

The key fob has the lock and unlock function, remote start-stop and we got the unlock for the hatch as well other than the usual the Honda Logo at the back. Popping into the hatch, there is quite a bit of cargo space, this isn't a big crossover but still pretty spacious! It has got a 12-volt socket and more storage underneath the floor. 

We love the tail light design as well, and I think that it looks really sharp, especially with the kind of intricacies there; then it has got all the rest of your badges, I like the way one is blacked out and the the other one's in chrome. Putting it all together, we feel that this thing looks really sharp overall! 

Honda Does Make You Feel Rich Under $30,000!

Inside the 2024 Honda HR-V, the door panel has soft touch down below and the stitching goes throughout! Taking a look at the seats, the design continues from the door panel; the legroom at the back is solid and the headroom is good as well. It has got little storage pocket on one side, a small storage in the center, and sadly this doesn't have the cupholder-armrest. 

At the front door panel, it’s got similar soft-touch here at the top and more down below with that orange stitching. Then you have all of the window controls, mirror adjustments; the mirrors do have blind spot monitoring as well. Then you have the seats with the manual adjustments on the side. 

Now, coming to the dash, it’s got stability control button at the left, and above that you have the soft touch on the dash all around. The steering wheel also has soft touch all around, and hosts practical controls in the front like adaptive cruise control, steering assist, and  the basic volume and voice command controls as well. 

Then it has this amazing hexagonal design here with the vent trim that goes all the way across, under the soft touch on the dash. Down below at the center, it has the climate controls with a single zone climate setup, followed by a little USB port, some cup holders, and the shifter for that CVT automatic. And just after that it has a little USB down below as you have a small opening below the center console. Oh and on the center console, you have a few buttons for drive mode select, Hill descent control, parking brake, and brake hold, followed by decent storage space. 

Adequate Amount Of Tech 

Now a quick look at the gauge cluster itself, it has one analog dial on one side and a little screen on the other, with which we can actually use to scroll through and well see different bits of info on the vehicle. It does have some drive modes such as Normal, Econ and Snow that we can switch between. 

On the infotainment screen you have the Reverse backup camera with trajectory lines which do turn with the steering wheel. As for the rest of the infotainment system, this is Honda's base unit is what I would call it; it is still a touchscreen but it's kind of more analog in the function and it’s got lots of physical buttons built into it. 

The glove-box is pretty normal, no sunroof or anything like that with this particular model of the 2024 Honda CR-V with a sticker price of $27,700 as base MSRP, and additionally it’s got the paint color which is an option and then including destination charges $29,480 is the total MSRP.

How Does The 2024 Honda HR-V Drive?

As we did have some snow while our time with the 2024 Honda HR-V, it was supposed to at least give us a little bit of an idea of how the all-wheel drive system performs. This isn't the best test but I've not noticed any slipping, the ABS system works, I mean it slid a little bit to be expected but yeah the system seemed to do pretty well, and lastly, we popped into the snow mode and kind of punched it a little bit, not the best acceleration but also it doesn't seem like it struggles for grip at all, and seems like the all-wheel drive system does a pretty good job at distributing power and all of that. 

In Contrast To The Toyota Corolla Cross

Now first off with the 2024 HR-V, it's got pretty comfortable seats and I think that's another plus with this car, and yeah it's a nice interior again for under $30,000! We just reviewed a Toyota Corolla Cross recently and I'm noticing quite a bit of a difference. It just kind of seemed like a mini RAV4 so it looked like it was kind of going for ruggedness whereas this 2024 HR-V, it's kind of like a mini CR-V where it seems like it's going more for the luxury side of things and it makes sense with the interior design layout! 

It drives pretty well, it's surprising how similar to the Corolla Cross; the Corolla Cross does have more horsepower though, and you do feel the difference a little bit, the Corolla Cross definitely felt like it had a bit more punch, not like it's perceivable but it's not like insane, it's not massive with the difference. 

Worth Your Consideration?

Now, to sum things up here with the 2024 Honda HR-V, we find this car to be really cool, I think it looks great on the outside, I don't think looks it looks better than the Corolla Cross outside, and inside it's just kind of a more premium looking package and all that. It drives really well, and yeah I think they did a really good job with the packaging here with the Honda HR-V. 

In terms of affordable crossovers with all-wheel drive under $30,000, this thing is really nice so it's definitely worth at least a look!
